ZTE Blade S6 Review

The slimmest Smartphone in the world at only 5.1 mm, made entirely out of solid aluminum and glass with remarkable 4.8 inch HD Super Amoled display and Octa-Core CPU.^4.8" Super AMOLED LCD with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on front and back: 8MP Camera with LED Flash with HD video recording (1080p), 5MP Front Camera^16GB internal with 1GB RAM, 1.7GHz Octa-Core Processor with MALI 450 GPU, Android 4.4 Kit Kat^4G HSPA+ up to 21 Mbps 850/1900/2100:

Intended for Southeast Asia, the Blade S6 greatly resembles Apple's most successful duck yet, the iPhone 6, down to the round edges and aluminum-looking rear (it's actually plastic). It's missing only the antenna band markings. The similarities do end there, thankfully, as the phone's MiFavor software runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop, and is quite different to Apple's iOS 8.
Specs-wise, this is a decidedly midrange breed of waterfowl, sporting a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octo-core processor, a 13-megapixel camera, 4G LTE dual-SIM capabilities and a 5-inch 720p screen. It will be available online at Alibaba's shopping site Aliexpress for $250 (which converts to around £165 or AU$320) and it will soon appear in stores in India, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

In line with our product portfolio plan, we very much sought to push the envelope with the Blade S6, and to do so in a way that would appeal to youths, as well as those with active social lives," said Adam Zeng Xuezhong, CEO of ZTE Mobile Devices. The ZTE Blade S6 is available via Amazon costing $199.

Blade S6 is the first to come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 615 processor. Qualcomm says it's the industry's first octa-core 64-bit capable CPU architecture. It uses Cortex-A53 cores with half at 1.7 GHz and half at 1 GHz. As the product name suggests, the device also includes 4G LTE support which is integrated on the Snapdragon 615, although it's worth pointing out that it's limited to 150 Mbps rather than 300. The GPU is an Adreno 405.

The Blade S6 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and ZTE's MiFavor 3.0 user interface which includes 'Smart Sense' - a set of gestures and motion controls. For example, you can quickly launch the flashlight, mirror and camera apps or play music - see the video below. Core specs include a 5in HD screen, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage and a 13 Mp Sony camera.

ZTE is also touting 'Hi-Fi sound capability' although hasn't expanded further on the subject. The ZTE Blade S6 will come in silver or pink with a design that looks remarkably similar to the iPhone 6. Check out ZTE's preview video below.
