Bolt's High Tech Electric Motor Bike

Bolt is a San Francisco-based startup that makes electric motorbikes. The bikes are handmade in a small garage on the edge of town and come with the same type of lithium-ion batteries used in Teslas. Co-founder Nathan Jauvtis grew up riding and assembling motorcycles and bikes, but he really liked the idea of building his own bike – one that would be clean and easy to ride. He started Bolt out of his garage not long ago and just started taking the first orders for these $5,000 vehicles.

Ryno Motors One Wheel Electric Scooter

After more than three years in the business, Vancouver-based start-up Ryno Motors has nearly finished its third and final design for a one-wheel self-balancing motor bike that's worthy of RoboCop. It's a sleek and sporty machine that, most importantly, stays upright and drives with ease.

This electricity powered motorcycle has a range of about 30 miles and can hit a top speed of 25mph. Powered by LiFePo4 batteries, the motorcycle is expected to cost about $3500. The motorcycle features high-capacity dual DC motors and controller boards, advanced solid-state motion sensors to maintain constant control of balance loop. All the electronic components inside have been sealed to prevent damage due to shocks.

CES 2015: Gogoro Smart Electric Scooter

The limits of electric vehicles are dictated by their batteries. While technological advances are aimed at creating batteries which can store more power more rapidly, Gogoro want to circumvent the whole obstacle by introducing a battery swapping program. Sure, the idea is not new, but Gogoro’s idea has good chances to work in the long run.

After four years operating in stealth, Taiwanese Gogoro is revealing an electric scooter designed for commuters along with a ridiculously ambitious plan to power it. You don’t plug the scooter in, like you would essentially any other electric vehicle in the world instead, Gogoro has its sights set on user-swappable batteries and a vast network of battery swapping stations that could cover some of the most densely populated cities in the world.
